Mr Howe,

I heard you are surprised that you have not received any emails over the last couple months regarding your willfully ignorant decision to rebrand with Syfy. This is a decision that makes me wonder if your marketing team got their hands on some really bad drugs. It is singly the worst decision I have seen a TV station make.

I was so excited when I saw that this channel was coming. I have loved Scifi since I was a small child and did not even know what it was. Over the last 30 years My love for quality Scifi has done nothing but grow. I thank the Scifi channel for giving us the one of the greatest shows I have ever seen, Farscape. I love Eureka. I love the old Outer Limits episodes, I love the impossibly bad cheesy movies that you run on the weekends that I consider a treat to watch. They are a throw back to my childhood when I would watch KBHK out of San Francisco, that ran Chiller Diller theater on Saturdays after cartoons. Scifi on Saturday is my new Chiller Diller theater and I love it. I love Scifi. I do not love Syfy.

It comes across as a shortened version of Syphilis, which I am sure there are many that are wishing to see you afflicted with the disease. I am not one of them. I am however someone that wonders how far someone’s head has to shoved up their ass to even consider Syfy a good idea. I realize the crass language is inappropriate but it is the only way to adequately show my disdain for this decision.

You are killing the greatest thing that happened to TV since it’s invention. Should you follow through with this course of action you will undoubtedly be remembered as the man that killed the Scifi Channel.
I also realize that while you a man who sits with a really great paycheck and probably make more in a year than what I will see in my life time, I don’t care. Regardless of your position and bank account you just as capable of making mistakes as I am. This is a major mistake that you still have time to rectify and I beg you to do so.
