I am always looking at news in the industry to see if there is anything to actually get excited about. More often than not I am depressed or left twitching. This morning was a pleasant surprise.

Back in the 80′s there was this little show called The Greatest American Hero and I loved it. You had aliens that delivered a super suit to a high school teacher in the desert complete with instruction manual. One problem, Ralph lost the book. This set up 3 seasons of watching him try to figure out how to make the suit work and often led to scenes of absolutely hilarity.

Ralph had a couple people helping him out a long the way. FBI Agent Bill Maxwell and Ralph’s fiancee Pam Davidson. Ralph’s students sometimes made their way into the story. If you remember when I interviewed Michael Pare, he played Tony Villincana, one of the students and had his first acting job with this show. I even started a petition to have him play the Bill Maxwell role originally done by Robert Culp.

In this article here, the shows creator who is also writing the script for the feature film, gets put on the spot by Connie Sellecca (Pan Davidson)

“I’m going to put Stephen on the spot,” Sellecca said with a grin. “Cameos for us?”

“Absolutely guaranteed,” Cannell responded. “More than cameos: acting jobs.”

This is great news for fans of the original show. This means we get to see William Katt and Robert Culp back together again and we get to see not a reboot of the story but a continuation.

Sorry Michael, I know you were excited by the possibility but Culp is taking the role back it would seem.

This is one piece of news that has The Movie Whore ready to shell out some cash to see this on big screen.
