I had a lot of fun with my What’s wrong with Hollywood Post. So much in fact I am going to do it again with some of flicks coming out this weekend and last weekend.

Before I get started I wanted to take a moment to recommend another whore. This one Is The Reel Whore. I have been reading his stuff for a few days and I have to say I dig it and I think you will too. I actually like what I have been reading so much I have added the site to my blog roll. So after you read this go check out The Reel Whore and the check out Large Association of Movie Bloggers or LAMB. There a great collection of bloggers lined up there and it is great to see all of us arrogant know it alls work together on something.With that let’s look at what is worth the money.

Bangkok Dangerous

Yet another remake of a foreign film you have not heard of. You know how I feel about remakes and it is not warm fuzzy feelings. Throw in one of the most overrated actors of all time, Nicolas Cage and you have the potential for a craptastic movie.

Is it worth my $8?: Not a chance in hell. Yet another shitty offering to the mindless masses who just don’t know any better.

Babylon A.D.

Vin Diesel as a mercenary who takes a job getting a woman form Eastern Europe to New York. This sounds like a derivative of Children of Men. I like Diesel. Shut up. Watch Find me Guilty and it will change your mind about him, it did for me.

Is it worth my $8?: Rental. I would definitely rent it and pay $5 instead of $8.

College

Porky’s meets Animal House meets Revenge of the Nerds meets American Pie meets every other teen comedy. Granted it is nice to see the R rated Teen comedies making a come back in recent years and here is another one to throw on the pile.

Is it worth my $8?: I think not. I will wait for HBO so it costs me what I am already paying. I am not going to dish out extra cash for this flick as it has been done before and I have not yet read or seen anything to get me excited about this flick.

Disaster Movie

Apparently like Saw, they think we need at least one of these flicks a year. It is hit and miss. Epic Movie blew chunks and Superhero Movie actually made me laugh. I give it a 50/50 chance of being entertaining at all. Consider yourself warned.

Is it worth my $8?: Do think I am brain dead? Don’t answer that. I will wait until a friend of mine rents it and then borrow it. Yes I have friends in the real world and one of them watches every one of these parody flicks that comes out so I know she will rent it. So yes I will watch it but not on my dime.

Traitor

Go check out the review done by The Reel Whore on this flick. I love Don Cheadle and this flick intrigues me as it has a decent cast and an interesting story.

Is it worth my $8?: Sorry Don but I just don’t have enough confidence in this flick to throw down some cash on it.

Death Race

REMAKE ALERT! I am a fan of Jason Statham but it has become rather apparent that he has never met a script he didn’t like. It may have some cool explosions but other than that I see nothing encouraging.

Is it worth my $8?: Hell no. I will wait until it hits Free on demand before I invest my time into this flick.

Hamlet 2

Finally something I have not seen before. I can’t think of a flick to compare this to. This means I want to see it just to see what they do with it. It looks completely devoid of taste and political correctness which is what makes me want to see it but…

Is it worth my $8?: I would go to a matinee or pay full price on a rental.

The House Bunny

I actually like Anna Faris. She is funny and this flick gets her out of the Scary Movie flicks and I am happy to see that.However this is a formula flick all the way but I am sure it will be good for a few laughs.

Is it worth my $8?: Probably not. Again I would rent this flick to watch it and I think it will probably crack me up in a few spots.

The Longshots

WTF over? I got nothing.  Just sitting here twitching.

Is it worth my $8?: Oh hell f*cking no! I would rather have some one dig my heart out with a spoon. Why a spoon, because it would hurt more. This flick has the potential to inflict the kind of pain you get from watching Alone in the Dark. Prepare to get gonoreahh of the eye form this one.
