Stop The Rocky Horror Remake!
Rants and Ramblings August 9th, 2008I came across this online petition this morning and thought I would share it. The Rocky Horror Picture Show is one of the sacred Movie Whore movie. I can not even begin to express the level of anger that ensued when I first read about this remake a couple weeks ago. Click either image below sign the petition.

I got your message about the remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and yes I signed the petition against it. That is one movie that should never be remade. No one can do it better than Tim Curry! I am a fan of that movie and always will be. I have it in my DVD collection.

Excellent work my friend. Keep fighting the good fight. Hollywood and the recycled remakes needs to be stopped dead in its tracks. It is awful arrogant to think one could (MTV no less) remake a classic such as this and do it proper justice.

I fear an “mtv” remake is a trainwreck approaching.
however, a remake on its own is not likely to be 100% awful. Each stage production, after all, puts a new slant, a different composition, a different interpretation of Frank.
(and in the long years, I still have fond memories of the Anthony Stuart Head and Jason Donovan stage production Franks. Yes, for those who’veonly seen the film version, Giles from Buffy was once Frank n Furter. Both were as good as Tim Curry in their own ways)
but what must be prevented is a complete rewrite. that is a travesty.
