A while back I had the pleasure of meeting with Marco and Kim and during that meeting they brought on board as a creative consultant. The first thing I did when I joined the team was to go back and watch the 3 solo LRP shorts and give them my feedback. I was brutal and the guys took it really well. Since then we have been working an a couple things together and one of those projects is going to be our first feature length film.

It is a great concept and I remember the phone call from Marco when he first came up with the idea. I love Marco like blood. He has a great energy and is one of the more creative people I have met in my life.

Kim is no slouch. He has a great eye for things and is focused on telling a great story. It is this desire to masterfully tell a story that he brings as both a writer and a director.

Now at LRP we have a couple ground rules.

1. Finish what we start

2. Each work is ‘better’ than the last.

Keep those rules in mind as we take a look at 3 LRP projects and I show you where each work has gotten better.

The Easy Way Out

This is what you would expect from first film. Good concept poor execution. You need to do something like this as a filmmaker to know what not to do in the future. I blasted the guys for this one. I do mean blasted. I said things I probably should not have said and would not have blamed them if they had never spoken to me again.

Keeping it Cool

Much better than the first and a great way to live up to rule #2. Now as a director Kim likes to through a little comedy in and puts Marco in a questionable position. When you watch it you will understand what I am referring to. Again remember the point here is to show progression. I was much kinder with my notes on this one. I was still honest in my own brutal way but I did acknowledge the steps taken to improve greatly upon their first offering.

Best Wishes

This last piece was definitely a real show of progression. They did a great job of creating a dark environment. I liked the story and the interaction between the characters. My only real problem was with the female lead and a joke that just did not fit the scene. Again remember rule #2. I was impressed with the work that went into this short and it shows that my partners here take what they are doing seriously and have a dedication to create something original, interesting and entertaining.

LRP has a couple full length projects on the slate  and the one we are working on now promises to deliver an original concept combined with a strong story that will come together create a film that will end up being a must own for those who truly love film. No I am not giving any details as of yet. You are just going to have to wait but yes, The Movie Whore is putting his money where his mouth is and is taking an active part in the creation of this masterpiece. I have already been working with Kim and Marco on the base storyline and script and this thing is shaping up to something I am very excited about and something that has given direction to my passion for film.

Kim, Marco, Thank you for bringing in this whore to be apart of something that is for “our families” and will be something we can all take a great deal of pride in. I believe in these guys and their dedication to creating great films and I am proud to be working with them. Last Rockstar Productions may not change the face of film but we will deliver films that are original, entertaining, thought provoking and just down right great flicks.
