A REALLY bad date…

Film Shorts

The Diesel Film Race rolled into Boston last weekend and anyone willing to register a team was charged with the task of creating a short film in under 24 hours. The rules were that all teams would receive the same e-mail at 10p.m. on Friday, July 25th which would list a “theme” and a “surprise element”. A completed film had to be submitted no later than 10p.m. on Saturday, July 26th.

The theme ended up being “DATING” and the surprise element was “FLUFFING A PILLOW”

Here’s what we came up with…

Check this out

Film Shorts

I caught this short while over on the message boards at FIB. It is called The Colony and it it is one I definitely got into.

Go take a look and then come back and let me know what you think. I dug this one. It is a great piece that shows you can still get something done on your own.  John Begley did a great job trhis and I can’t wait to see what he does next. The link is here.

Interview

When I was talking to Effie T. Brown she mentioned a guy I should talk to that she is working with on a film with. His name Ben Berkowitz. Unless you stray off the beaten path you may not have heard of Ben but you will. He’s a talented guy and I have a feeling there is going to be talk about his next flick.

The Future Is NOW!

Film Shorts, Reviews

marty mcfly

Time travel is a paradox - one that has been examined countless times in flicks, but never as intricately or with as much imagination as in “Back to the Future”. After seeing this movie over a million times, I’ve made a few observations that I’d like to share…

Confessions of a Late Bloomer

Reviews

When I sat down to watch Confessions of a Late Bloomer I was more than rewarded for my time.  Meet Donny. He is 15 years old and is well he is smaller than everyone and gets pushed around quite a bit. Then he comes up with an idea, a bet. If he can get the woman his dreams to give but one kiss then the bully leaves him alone.

Watching the things Donny does to try and get ready for the pool party being thrown be his dream girl will be sure to leave you laughing out loud and pulling for this underdog. You instantly fall in love with this kid and you can’t help but to find that little part of Donny that is in each us.

Confessions of a Late Bloomer is right around 15 minutes long and is 15 minutes you will be glad you spent in front of the TV. Jen Mcgowan did a wonderful job as the Director for this movie in telling a story that hits on a personal level and entertains you leaving you wanting more. I can’t wait to see what Jen done does next. Have a great weekend kids.

Kate Tremills, The interviewer gets interviewed

Interview

As I sit and Interview all these people I often day dream of the day some one will be interviewing me. This is one of the reasons I wanted to interview The Film Journalist, Kate Tremills at Film Industry Bloggers (FIB). I wanted to see what it would feel like from some one who is used to asking the questions. I think you will agree Kate turned out to be quite entertaining as well as informative. But to really pick her brain I would jump over to FIB sometime and check out what she has to say.
