I am sitting around on a Saturday and I am flipping through the channels and what do I see has come on HBO?

Showdown in Little Tokyo.  Never heard of it. I am not surprised. It was one the first flicks that Brandon Lee did.  He was in a supporting role to He-Man himself, Dolph Lundgren.  Tia Carrere also pops up in this flick and has some the worst dialog ever.  This is not a good movie by any stretch of the imagination but these are the things a movie whore will subject themselves to to find the flick that come on after.

Slither is a new classic that has that Tremors-esque feel to it. The Queen of the Geeks knew I was watching this movie and decided to go to Subway for lunch and then tried to sit down and eat while watching.  You have to have a strong stomach for that exercise.

Between Firefly, Serentity, and Slither, if I see Nathan Fillion is in a flick I will sit down and watch.  Really it was the only reason I watched the movie Waitress.  That was a pretty damn good flick as well.

So right after Slither was Deep Blue Sea.  I know everyone of you just thought of the scene of Sam Jackson getting eaten in one shot by a huge shark.  This movie was all right. At least they got away from the Great White shark and instead genetically altered some sharks.  When I watch this flick it really is LL Cool J that provides most of the best entertainment in this flick.

I want to go back to Friday for a moment and add a quick review for Kung Fu Panda.  Yesterday was my little D.Q.’s(Drama Queen) birthday. She turned 9 and we went to see this flick for her.

Now I will say this first, I was not looking forward to seeing this movie. It looked like another kids movie that only the kids would enjoy.  I am happy to say I was wrong. The flick had me crying I was laughing so hard. Jack Black is the man. He is another one that I will watch anything he is in.

Po is a big fat panda that was raised by a family of ducks. The ducks own a restaurant and Po is expected to follow in the family business but he loves Kung Fu. He dreams of it but there is only one problem, he is clumsy, fat and lazy.

The Furious Five represent the most well known five forms of Kung Fu. You have the Tiger, Snake, Crane, Monkey, and the Praying Mantis.  The grand master has decided it is time to pick a new Dragon Warrior that will receive the secrets of the Dragon Scroll.

As each of the Furious Five shows off their stuff Po is trying like hell to get in and take a look at whats going on.  He ends up getting in and the way he does it is hilarious.  Long story short Po is chosen to be the new Dragon Warrior .

From here the hilarity ensues as this clumsy fat panda sets out to learn Kung Fu and become the Dragon Warrior.  I loved the flick.  It had me crying I was laughing so hard.  I can see why it got an 88% on Rotten Tomatoes.

So while I am writing this I am watching one of the Blue Collar Comedy tours on Comedy Central.  Really out of the 4 guys I would have to say Bill Engvall is my favorite. He has the best material and always makes me laugh.
I am also working on a couple Scifi movie articles for this upcoming week so keep your eyes peeled for The Movie Whore on Star Trek and then The Movie Whore on Star Wars.  The Star Trek article will be a 2 parter and We will see if I have to split up the Star Wars post.  In other words it is going to geek week for me.  Come and join me.  OK kids I am off to see what damage I can inflict on myself with my movie watching for the rest of the weekend.  Have a great weekend.
