My movie history
The Whore's Lists May 22nd, 2008Movies, films, flicks, shows, drama, comedy, horror, sci/fi, action, no matter what you call them they all mean something different to everyone. Where did my love affair with movies start?
The first movie I remember seeing was when I was 3, my mom took to me to see the original Star Wars. After that I wanted every movie to have space ships.
When I was 4 it was Superman and I wanted to fly.
At 5 I saw Star Trek and found out bald girls are pretty too.
I really wanted a snow speeder when I was 6 after seeing The Empire Strikes Back.
At 7 I saw Raiders of the Lost Ark and have spent the rest of life not being able to see a bull whip with out thinking of Indy.
When I was 8 I saw Somewhere in Time on HBO. I fell in love with Jane Seymour.
At 9 it was about Ewoks. I was 9 get over it.
Ice Pirates made robots cool for me at age 10.
When i was 11 robots got even cooler with D.A.R.Y.L.
At 12 it was all about wanting to fly an F-16 after seeing Iron Eagle.
Miniaturization is cool and Martin Short is insane. Innerspace taught me this at 13.
I wanted to play with swords after seeing Willow when I was 14.
Say Anything was the first time I felt like some one knew how I fetl some times when I was 15.
Tremors is still one of my favorites and I saw it when I was 16 for the first time.
When I was 17 I saw Hudson Hawk and realized bad can be good.
Noises Off made the theater so much more interesting when I was 18.
I was in the Air Force but it was all about The Army of Darkness when I was 19.
Maverick reminded at 20 that westerns could be fun.
At 21 I fell in love with Lori Petty as Tank Girl.
I saw way too many helicopters blow up in Broken Arrow when I was 22.
I really dug Clowny in Spawn when I was 23.
Dark City blew me away the first time I saw it when I was 24.
The Matrix was the coolest thing I had seen at 25.
I became a Russell Crowe fan when I was 26 and I saw Gladiator.
Shrek came out when I was 27 and I still watch it with The Dude.
It was the second coming of Chevy Chase. I saw Van Wilder when I was 28.
Johnny Depp played my favorite pirate when I was 29 in Pirates of the Caribbean.
Garden State is another on my all time list and I saw it when it came out when I was 30.
When I was 31 I watched Anakin Skywalker become Darth Vader and was not impressed. Revenge of the Sith left me feeling hollow and empty, kind of like drinking Drano.
I was freaked out by Brandon Routh in Superman Returns at 32.
Grindhouse was another reminder that bad can be good, damn good. I was 33.
This year so far it is all about Iron Man until I see Dark Knight this summer.
This has been an interesting trip down memory lane. 30 years and counting since the first time I fell in love with film. I love movies more now then ever. You kids have a good one and don’t be shy, leave a comment or two and let us know what your earliest film was.

Hudson Hawk. I saw that as a dodgy pirate copy when I was however old. Great film. Crap film. Weird film.
What was the song that Willis sang?

OMG, Noises Off! I remember watching that movie with my father. We almost wet our pants. A lot of people I suggest it to think its a little dry but it will always be one of the funniest in my book.
Great movies and great memories!

I saw more than a few movies from about 12-present and counting that made me think WTF?

It has to be almost the worst film ever!! I am still watching it, but there is a channel which just shows paint drying…and my hand is hovering over the remote.
