Michael Beihn as the Punisher
Hollywood Switch April 14th, 2008Think about it. How awesome would that have been?
There are a lot of times we look at movies and we look at the lead and think “Couldn’t they have got some one else”
Well come with me down the path only a true movie whore could explore. That’s right we are going to look at some movies and pick some replacements.
Movie: Punisher
Who should it have been: Michael Beihn
When you need a cold killer you get Michael Beihn. You need a military guy you get Michael Beihn. You need a Punisher you should have got Michael Beihn. Beihn has that dark edge to him that Frank Castle needs. Go back and read some of the books. Castle has no redeemable qualities. He is a straight up killer. Thomas Jane was too good an actor for the part and just not dark enough. He has that nice guy look to him . Beihn can look at you and tell you he’s a bad mother f***er that will kill you now with only his eyes.
Movie: Ghost Rider
Who should have been Satan: Peter Stormare
I told you we were not done with this movie. Peter Fonda once played Grandpa in a Thomas the Train Movie. I am not kidding. His performance as the Devil was painful. Now after seeing Constantine there is no one that ever should be allowed to play the Devil whose name is not Peter Stormare. I will give you Pacino in Devil’s Advocate and even Gabriel Byrne in End of Days but Stormare is hands down the best Satan ever. He was so evil and had this presence and arrogance that screamed he was the Prince of Darkness without having to ever utter a word.
Movie: Fantastic 4
Who really should have been The Invisible Girl: Either Sharon Stone or Virginia Madsen
Jessica Alba is a lot of fun to look at, then she speaks and ruins everything. Not a good actress and let’s not forget that Reed is supposed to be an older guy and The Invisible Girl is supposed to an older woman. Putting this young trelk (If you get the reference my hats off to you and you win 10 cookies) in there was just a slap in the face. Now I would take either Sharon or Virginia in this role because both are not spring chickens but still sexy. Not to mention they can act. I can’t say that it would make the movie any better because the writing was crap.
Movie: Fantastic 4: The rise of the Silver Surfer
CGI for Galactus instead of giant f***ing space tornado: How about making him look like the comic book f***o.
Talk about one that made me twitch for days on end. I was literally screaming in the theater I was so pissed. Even now I am having a hard time keeping the rage at bay. I am however twitching up a storm and have had to fix nearly every word in this paragraph. I had so many other problems with this movie but it was nothing compared to the total and complete disappointment of seeing Galactus represented as a cosmic storm. Come on, this guy is the devourer of worlds for Stan lee’s sake. For me this is hands down the worst directorial decision ever.
So I am sure this one will be revisited and I am sure you can think of some pretty horrible casting choices yourself. So how about this. You give me the movie with the horrible casting and the actor/actress you want replaced and I will give you the best person for the part. 5 cookies if I pick your suggestion. You never know these cookies might one day be worth something (Hint).

Sadly I have no idea who Michael Beihn is. I enjoyed Punisher with the actor who played in the movie, but I have no idea how the real character is supposed to be portrayed. I absolutely hated both Fantastic 4 movies, even though I have watched both of them multiple times.

Michael Beihn played Johnny Ringo in Tombstone. He was also the Lead in Navy Seals and was Reese in The Terminator. Than he has been a lot of other lesser movies.

I fully agree that Jessica Alba was not right for the role…but she is sooooo good to look at, and in part, saved the film for me.

I can understand that but I don’t care how good she looks she needs to learn to act.
